Importing MP3 files into iTunes

I'm trying to import a MP3 file on my PC into iTunes. For some reason, it doesn't work. What's wrong?

Place copies of the files in the Automatically Add to iTunes folder inside your iTunes Media folder. The files will either be accepted into the library or moved into a Not Added folder. If they end up in Not Added you'll know there is an issue with the files, even if you don't know exactly what it is. Possibilities include corrupt files, or a format that doesn't match the file extension.
