Since the latest Catalina upgrade, Notes searching doesn't work anymore. Any solutions?

This just started happening after the latest upgrade. Searching in Notes doesn't work anymore.

Yesterday I tried something suggested in another discussion:

• Got rid of some relevant files in Library to refresh them.
• Turned off and on Notes in iCloud settings. After turning it on all my notes needed to sync again. That wasn't enough to fix search so I...
• ...restarted my MBP.

At that point search in Notes was working again and I thought, "yay!" But this morning it's not working again.

Anybody have any reliable solutions?
