Missing apple pay icon in messages
The Apple pay icon does not appear in messages.

Yes to all above. I was able to complete the transaction using Siri but, how do I get the Apple pay icon to show up in messages?

Open a message and in the icon slider swipe until you get to the far right and the three dots, tap edit, add Apple Cash.
Do you have Apple Cash set up? Are you at least 18 and in the USA? Set up Apple Cash to send and receive money in Messages - Apple Support
