During setup, I set a 6-pin password. However, I forgot the pass-code before entering in my apple ID. I tried to unlock it multiple times before it locked me out of the iPad fully. When I connect to iTunes on my laptop (windows 10), it says I need to unlock my iPad. Help would be greatly appreciated.

No, I think you explained it perfectly. Unfortunately, if you cannot remember your iPad Passcode, you may need to restore your iPad and/or follow the instructions to reset via your AppleID.
You can’t directly bypass the Passcode on your device - as it’s security would be pretty bad if you could!

Sorry I think I explained this wrong. The issues is that I forgot the pin for my iPad, not my ID. To clarify, I did not sign into my apple ID on the iPad and I am locked out.
