AirPod Pro Seal/Fit Issues

Has anyone else experienced a lack of seal when using the AirPod Pros? I was really hoping they would fit, as I have slightly longer ear canals and tend to have trouble finding in ears that seal. Beats X are the only ones so far that do.

I contacted Apple Support, and they confirmed the three sets that come in the box is it, and no larger option available, so it's a matter of waiting until Third Parties start selling them I guess? Amazing product apart from that though. Absolutely mortified as I was so excited to receive them.

Had the exact same issue and found the solution for me on MacStories: adding a 3rd party memory foam ring inside the original Large tip. See full article on MacStories at https://www.macstories.net/stories/how-i-modded-the-silicone-tips-of-airpods-pro-with-a-memory-foam-layer/. I’m thrilled!

I bought my AirPod Pros the very first day and the large tips fit perfectly. I passed the seal test easily and the ANC works AWESOME! After a few weeks I noticed that the left ear seal was not as good as it was at first. I tried the medium tip and it was worse. Over the last few weeks the fit got worse and worse and the ANC barely worked because of all the sound leakage in my left ear. The right ear still worked great, perfect seal. I tried the fit test again and there was no way for me to get the left ear to pass but the right was good. Now I can’t even get the right ear to pass but it still seals well.

I just went to the Apple Store and got new large tips and the seal is back on both ears but the fit test doesn’t pass on either. I think there are two problems. First, the tips just degrade. I wear my AirPod Pros a lot including occasionally while I sleep. I noticed the left ear fitting worse and worse over a couple of weeks. I put the new tips on and instant fit but I’m sure they will begin to change over time. Second, the fit test has issues. I don’t really care if it works or not as long as I get a good seal. ANC is worthless if there is sound leakage.

I really feel that a foam tip would work way better and stay a good fit. Hopefully Apple is getting the message.

Exactly that, one of the tests fails on my right ear. I actually sat in front of the TV last night and turned the noise cancellation on and off. There is a slight difference in the right ear ie: you can definitely hear the difference between the sealed left ear and in sealed right ear. Sound is still good, just not that complete seal to make these perfect. I’ve decided to keep them for now and wait for third party ear tips, sometimes they make them just that little bit larger or deeper.

Got the Airpod Pro's the day they came out two weeks ago. I've tried all 3 sizes of the tips. The medium tip worked in the right ear and when switching to the large tips I got both to seal, but only every once in a while, not consistently. Two weeks later now the 'ear tip fit test' confirms that there is no seal in both ears anymore. I just came back from the apple Genius Bar and we've tried another set of large tips. They seem to work a little better keeping outside noise out when noise cancellation is active, but the 'ear tip fit test' still says no seal in both ears. Apple needs to come out with a slightly longer tips in both medium and large sizes. I have wired inEars from Shure, Etymotic, 64Ears and several other manufacturers, they all seal perfectly, so I know my ears are not 'unusual' (which the Apple Genius implied:-) I also have Powerbeat Pro's and they go in a little deeper, but unfortunately don't have noice cancellation. I prefer the AirPod Pro's but having slightly longer eartips available for us is a must. Hope apple is listening.

Mine sealed well with the default medium tips for the first few days. Since then, the fit has deteriorated. The tips feel looser in my ears, and the fit test now fails regardless of which combination of sizes I use in different ears. Sound is still good, but sound isolation not so much. As others have suggested, the issue seems to be not so much the diameter of the tips, but the depth. I need ones that go farther into my ear canals.

I bought my AirPods Pro this morning at the Seattle University Village store one of the first. After wearing them all day, walking as well as seated and not moving .... I find it almost impossible when running the fit test to get “good seal on both pods”. Out of the box with medium, the left was good seal but right not. So I changed the right to large and temporarily got a green good seal on right. Later in the day after walking around, while the pods felt secure in ear I then could not get a good fit signal. Tonight, seated on the sofa I am back to left only again.

When I turn on noise cancellation, I can hear that it works.

I am beginning to think the fit test is calibrated wrong.
