Does my account have to be on my child’s iPad?

I recently purchased an iPad 7 for my child. Setup family sharing, created her own iCloud account amend everything. But when I initially set it up, I set it up as “my iPad” then added her’s.. Does my account have to be on her iPad for family sharing to work properly? I really would like to remove my account completely and just manage family sharing on my own iPad if possible.


Any input is appreciated.
