I discovered my Home Movies in a folder named Home Movies under my id and iTunes folders using Finder and was able to delete the duplicate home movies. I had to stop my MacBook before the Apple TV app on my MacBook showed the changes. I had to turn off my iPhone and turn it back on before a sync worked that picked up my changes in the Apple TV app on my iPhone.
I only lost one movie that Apple TV would not recognize or play because I bought that from iTunes a long time ago with an old Apple Id that I deleted when I consolidated all of my old Apple Ids. I was not very good about Apple Ids and used to have one for work emails and one for personal emails and then later stopped using Apple email altogether for tutanota which is uniquely encrypted per email account and not scanned by that company. Long story short, I called Apple about it but they will not transfer the license so I just had to eat that and delete that movie so that won't come up again. I am really glad I only bought one movie from iTunes and glad I got the rest from other sources. At least I have all of those and they work just fine.
Thank everyone for the help. I feel like I am finally getting with it in the 21st century with these computer devices and their apps.
During this entire ordeal, I did discover that having one of these new MacBooks with just one of these new USB ports means that I cannot keep the MacBook charged or charging while connected to the iPhone and trying to transfer a lot of Home Movies. Luckily the battery lasted but I had to do one iPhone, then take a break to recharge the MacBook before doing my spouses iPhone. Of course, I could always buy an adapter that can support plugging in the power USB cord and an iPhone at the same time. Just what i need, another wire or adapter to throw in my drawer of wires and adapters from a couple of decades of using computers. I like the move to simplify the MacBook but sometimes the K.I.S.S. principle, Keep It Simple Stupid, is stupid when carried too far. Sort of like my friend who bought some 12 foot boards for his deck and brought them home in a friends truck and built half his deck one weekend and the next weekend could not borrow the truck because our other friend was hunting out in the country, so he went and bought the 12 foot boards to finish his deck and figured out they would not fit in his SUV so he had them cut in half. He figured out how his simple plan was stupid about the time he tried to put the first 6 foot board on his back deck. ROFLOL, I wish we'd gotten a video of that. C'est la vie.
