I have a message on my iMAC 27" 5k 10.14.6 indicating that a software update is required to connect to my iPhone7. What upgrade is this? Is it is an upgrade to 10.15 Catalina?

Software Update Required to Connect to iPhone. Is this an update to Catalina or Big Sur? Good day. I am running Catalina 10.15.7 on a Mac mini and have an iPhone 11 running 14.2. When I connect, I am getting the prompt to run a software update. Is this update trying to get me to install Big Sur, or is this an update to Catalina? My Mac Mini is also my Final Cut Pro edit system. I am not going to install Big Sur yet, until we've had a couple of OS 11 updates and I'm sure FCP is running with no issues. I just want to make sure I'm not installing Big Sur.

Unintended OS update I'm on an iMac running Mojave 10.14.6.. I'm trying to update my iPhone. I am being prompted to update my iMac in order to update my iPhone to version 14.0. At this time, I can not update my iMac to Catalina due to software conflicts. Question: If I follow the prompt ("A software update is required to update your iphone. Would you like to download and install this update now?") will this update my OS to Catalina? I tried the "Learn More" button but found no answer to this question. Thanks in advance for responses. No. Its an update to iTunes on your Mac. Its a software update for iTunes to work with iOS 13.2 now.

The message should have come up when you plugged your iPhone in to access in iTunes.
