Recording acoustic bass guitar into logic X

Recording a tune in Logic where the acoustic bass is playing the melody in the upper registry. I have inputs input 1 mic and input 2 ** through my external amp. Tone is good but not as bright as I would like. Play a Fender Kingman SCE with fishman eq (Bass reduced set at 9 o'clock, mid flat set at 12 o'clock, and high set at 3 o'clock).

Any suggestion on getting a brighter tone.

Tone stack on your external amp should be functional.

Since you're using a Mic and a ** try this, add the Gain Plugin as an Insert on one of the tracks, open Gain and use Invert Phase. With a Mic and ** the signal will not be recorded completely in phase.

Mic placement more towards the bridge. We used to stereo mic acoustics with one pointing at the fretboard where it joins the body, the second to the the right, pointing towards the bridge. Don't point the Mic directly at the soundhole.
