My iphone 5 says 'your software is up to date' even though it currently has iOS 10.1 and I apparently need to update to 10.3.4 to avoid these new issues. What can I do? I can't see another way to force an update. Is it impossible for this old a model?

Did you ever have a beta version on your phone? If so that will block the update from any source other than the beta site.

I've opened iTunes on my PC and I can't see anywhere to update my version of iTunes. Every step seems to be an agony!
I also tried to download iTunes and was directed to the Microsoft store, which told me that iTunes is already installed and gave me no apparent option to download a newer version. I have 12.10.2.3.
