Force iDevice to save photos in landscape mode

The title says it. I am looking for a way to force my iPhone and iPad to save my photos only in landscape orientation, regardless of how I hold the device when taking a picture. This thread from August ( Lock orientation of camera at capture - Apple Community ) tries to achieve the same goal, but with no solution found.

Very often I need to take a photo where the desired result is to display the subject at an angle or sideways. I need to shoot the picture and transmit it without needing to fix it up in post production.

I tried using Rotation Lock to lock my iPad in Landscape Orientation. My Home Screen remained in landscape mode even as I rotated the iPad. So far, so good. Then I launched the camera and rotated the camera 90 degrees, so as to take the picture "sideways". Against my will, the iPad saved the photo in portrait orientation.

Is there another setting I should be using, or is Apple thinking that I am too stupid to manage my own business?

The camera will save the photo based on the orientation of the sensor in the camera, not based on the orientation lock. You have the option to rotate the photo after taking it, but the sensor is oriented a certain way in the iPad.
