iPhone 7 model A1660 not connecting to mobile carrier

After years of not having any problems with this phone, I cannot connect to my US carrier (Sprint) after returning from an overseas trip and after installing all the iOS 13 versions. Sprint tells me that Apple knows about this and it is specific for this model. Does it have anything to do with iOS 13.2? Because nothing seems to work after having installed that system.
