Airplay 2 receivers??

apple makes appletv and homepod which act the part, doubt they will begin making receivers

I just did an Internet search for "AirPlay enabled receivers," and here is one link to an Amazon page with 801 results:

For example they have listed a Denon AVR-S640H for $249.99 (U.S.). Denon is one of the top receiver manufacturers. FWIW, I used to have a much older one that did not have AirPlay, but used an AirPort Express base station at that time to make up for it. Worked great for my needs to feed audio to an entire home.

There are numerous AirPlay-enabled audio receivers, including models that support AirPlay 2. Like Rudegar, I doubt that Apple will be providing one anytime soon as they already do so via the Apple TV and HomePod speakers. Good quality receivers have always been a bit pricey, regardless of whether or not they support AirPlay.
