the sensor is not working apple watch

The green sensor on my Apple Watch has stopped working. I have unpaired and repaired with the phone but it’s still not working. It doesn’t even detect my movement, let alone the heart rate and stand. Does the Apple Watch needs battery replacement ? Or is it possible that water has got inside the watch? How could I reboot it ? Somebody please advise. Thanks very much !
