iPhone 11 Pro won't reconnect to car hands free kit

We upgraded our phones (last week) to an XR and 11 Pro. We have two cars that both have Parrot CK3100 LCD hands free kits.

The XR works flawlessly in both vehicles. The 11 Pro, not so much. The problem is identical between cars.

I can pair the 11 Pro to the hands free and it will work fine until the phone is disconnected. After that the phone will not reconnect to the hands free kit. I have to delete the phone on the hands free kit and forget the device on the phone then pair the devices again.

The 11 Pro has been paired with Air Pods but forgetting them doesn't seem to change anything.

Is there a setting that might have been changed or something additional I'm missing on the 11?
