Notification badge counts in Messages app recently out-of-sync across devices since iOS 13 and iPhone 11

how can i synchronize apple notification badges across devices for Messages app? I've noticed several changes since iOS 13 and transferring to an iPhone 11. My own messages now increase the new message badge count on other devices. I don't recall this happening previously. Any thoughts/tips?

On my old 2019 Android phone if I had 3 unread text messages the number 3 would appear on my message icon, simple enough. If I went in and just read one message but left the other 2 unread the icon would change to a 2. On the latest Android OS it doesn't change to a 2, it removes the badge completely and I then have no reminder for the other 2 unread messages. So, how does the iPhone work with these badges?

message app not showing badges from non iphones So I’ve noticed that from the latest ios 15 to the newest ios16 my message app no longer seems to show badges from messages sent from people who don’t have an iphone for some reason. At first thought it was simply an issue with all messages but then noticed I’d see the badge from people i know who have iphones, but not from those that don’t. Is this intentional? If so why?

Whatsapp Badge Disappears When Unread Messages Still Remain This has been asked before but never resolved. It may be a Whatsapp or Apple problem, of course. Is there a way to keep the Whatsapp badge showing on the Whatsapp icon on an iphone when you've opened messages from one chat but there are still messages unread from other chats? Having read messages in one chat, I don't necessarily want to read other chats' messages right then, but I would like the badge count of other unread messages to remain as a reminder. Thanks. This problem has persisted for a number of years. Currently iPhone 14 Pro iOS16
