What I’m listening to music or not, the announce messages on my new AirPods Pro is very soft I can barely hear it sometimes I can’t hear it. How do I turn that volume up? It seems soft even when I’m listening to music it mutes the music playing and reads the message too Quitely.

if I recall correctly ... I was listening to music and sent myself a looonngggg text so when the text was being read I could adjust the volume upward - it was too quiet for me. Try that and turn the volume down when the text is being read by Siri.
it’s a nice feature ... they need to add volume controls into the AirPod pro settings ...they need better volume control options overall ... still unclear why some noise play and others don’t. Volume options are scattered everywhere!!

While Siri is speaking, press the volume up button on the side of the phone.
Just so you don’t have to wait for a text message to come in, you can use the hey Siri feature on your AirPods and tell her to read you your last text message, and then while the phone is on that black Siri screen as the messages being read, you press the volume up button.
Seems I turned mine up ... I think I did it when a text message is playing ... turn the volume up to as loud as you want ... send yourself a log text from a friends phone.

Try activating Siri on the phone as normal and then use the volume buttons to increase the volume while Siri is waiting for you to speak.
I just asked Siri what time it is and turned up volume while she was speaking. Airpods Pro 1/20
Yes you must turn the volume up when the message is being read! Thanks to whoever posted that. Worked like a charm!
Have you AirPods in playing music at a normal level, then send yourself a long message. While it’s being read out adjust your volume on the side of your phone.
I was able to fix the problem by forgetting the air pods pro and then reconnecting them.
When someone texts you hit the volume up button on your iPhone right away. That did the trick for me!

Ok I don’t know if anyone got there’s fixed but this worked for me. Go to this website https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.businessinsider.com/how-to-make-airpods-louder
then scroll down to calibrate your AirPods . Follow those steps. Once finished with that all I did was asked Siri what time it was and used the volume buttons on the side and it finally turned up! I did that hey Siri and used the volume on the side several times when she was talking but it never turned it up until I did the recalibration. Hopefully that helps!
This fixed the issue for me. I had my friend send me a long text and as Siri was reading it back to me I turned the volume down. All of the next texts were read at the volume I set it to when turning down. Be careful not to set it too low or you won't hear the messages when they come in.

I think I was able to turn it up when a message was coming in and being read to me by Siri, because it seems a little bit louder now so send yourself a text message from somewhere else and while you’re having the message read try and turn the volume down a bit.
It’s really nice to have the read a text feature with the new AirPod pros I love it.
Please can you tell me how you figured it out? My music will be on low volume then whenever i use siri or receive a text the music goes FULL volume! I have the AirPods 2nd gen. I've tried turning the volume down when its full volume but it doesn't work until after the notification has passed.
