dell monitor(U2718Q), MacBook Pro 15.4[MV902KH] compatible

Dear,

I'm using those two products.

When connected with hdmi cable, it is not stable.

The monitor does not recognize the connection repeatedly.

There is no driver installation file for mac on the Dell homepage.

I would appreciate it if you could tell me how.

Thank you

MacBook Pro

Hi liye19,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I see you're having an issue with an external display, and I'd like to help out.

Try a different HDMI cable, as that could be the issue.

Get help with video issues on external displays connected to your Mac has steps for you to follow.

Use external monitors with your Mac has basic info on setting up an external display.

If you're still not able to resolve the issue, I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer for assistance.

Take care!

You don't mention which version of macOS that your MacBook Pro is running, but since it's a 2019 model, I'm going to assume that it is running macOS Catalina ... correct?

FWIW. If so, I found this exact issue with my Dell monitor and my 2018 Mac mini running Catalina. Regardless of how many HDMI cables I used, the I had a hard time getting the monitor to get a display from the mini. I then tried using a USB-C-to-HDMI adapter and that solved it for me. When Apple released 10.15.1, I tried just using a direct HDMI connection again ... and this time it worked! So, in my case, upgrading to the latest OS version solved the problem.
