Annoying red dots under texts

I have disable "Correct spelling automatically" in system preferences and in the app, for example notepad, Edit/Spelling and grammar -> nothing activated there. Still there are red dot underlined words. This is very irritating because for me there are lots and lots of red dotted words for 2 reasons: 1. I write program code and most of the terms Apple dictionary doesn't know and 2. My language is Finnish which obviously isn't Apple's native language.

So please let me know how to get rid of those spelling correction hints or what ever they are.

Can you do a Safe boot followed by a normal boot and see if problem still happens?

Can you try a second account and see if problem still happens? If it does, then would suspect a corrupted plist preferences file. So need to know what apps this happens in to give you suggestion for the preferences file to try moving to see if this helps.

After disabling in TextEdit I did not see any red dots at all in TextEdit, so it doesn't appear to be a Catalina bug in my case.

Are you talking about the Apple app called "Notes"? Or about some 3rd party app you downloaded?
