macOS Catalina automatically enables Do Not Disturb via "Presentation Mode" when external display connected
When connecting any external display to my current generation MacBook Air (2019) running macOS Catalina, Do Not Disturb is automatically enabled via "Presentation Mode".
I discovered this after I stopped getting notifications showing on the right hand side of either display after connecting my second external display. Clicking in the top right to open control centre showed that Do Not Disturb was enabled, with a caption below it stating "Presentation Mode". Some key info:
- External displays connected via HDMI, through a USB-C adapter
- This behaviour can be replicated for all displays connected via HDMI, regardless of which apps are running and whether or not any are in full screen mode
I can't find any options in System Preferences whatsoever that seem to relate to "Presentation Mode".
Can anyone shed any light on why I'm seeing this behaviour, and how to prevent it?
