"Apple Watch couldn't connect to iPhone. Try bringing the devices closer together, or start the pairing process again."

I just bought an Apple Watch Series 5. I have been trying to pair it for over an hour now, restarting both my iPhone and Watch, unpairing and repairing. It still isn't pairing at all. What can I do about this?

I am having the exact same issue with the apple watch 5 pairing it to an iPhone X.

The same for me...Can't connect my new Apple Watch Series 5 to my iPhone X. And I did take the watch off the charger. Nothing happened...HELP
