Apple Pay keeps popping up

How do I stop my card in Apple Pay from popping up when I’m using other apps? It pops up whenever I’m near a device that accepts it, meaning I am unable use my bus passes. I set up Apple Pay last night and have had to delete my card today so I could get on the buses to and from work, as every time I quit off of it it would pop up again as soon as I put my phone near the reader. Ideally I’d like to be able to use both, so wondered if there’s a way of doing this as I can’t be the only person that has passes/tickets/loyalty cards on their phone...
