I'm trying to change my Apple ID to a different email address, but when I enter my Gmail address, an error message says, "Your new Apple ID cannot be the same as your notification email address." I don't remember setting that up, nevertheless, how can I now change this?
You can remove the address from your Apple ID, but you won't be able to use the address as your Apple ID address for 30 days to a year.
You are welcome. It could be a problem if you need to reset your password or receive information from Apple. Consider getting an AOL or Yahoo to use until you can use the one you want.
Thanks for the quick reply, Eric - now, if the email address I have as my ID now is no longer available to me, will it be a problem to keep using it? I have no other emails other than the gmail address that I now can't use . . .
