I've installed NX 12.0 on macOS 10.15.1 with XQuartz 2.7.11. When I try to launch NX, I see the welcome screen for about 3 seconds, after which NX crashes leaving just a black XQuartz window and the cursor.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
On https://www.reddit.com/r/cad/comments/9n8nj6/nx_for_macos/ one user says Siemens no longer supports NX on macOS so there's no hope they'll author a fix.

According to Siemens, installation of NX12 is only supported on HFS+ filesystems. And I see no documentation from Siemens that talks about NX12 working with Catalina. It has been three-years since development on XQuartz ended. It may not be entirely compatible now either.

Thanks. I checked that already. Siemens discontinued macOS support for NX after NX 1847 (which is the next version after NX 12, the one I have installed - I don't understand their version numbering scheme either).
NX 12 was released in 2017 so I'm fairly certain there's some incompatibility with macOS Catalina that's causing it to crash. What I'm hoping is that someone has figured out a workaround to run NX 12 on macOS 10.15. It's probably a lost cause though.
Ah, I did not realize HFS+ is required. My main partition is APFS so this may be part of the issue. Conveniently, none of this is mentioned in the installation script or README.txt (save for the X11/XQuartz requirement).

Yes, probably hopeless as there are too many variables beyond the filesystem requirement.
