Airdrop from 2012 Macbook Pro to iPhone 6s problems

I have a 2012 Macbook Pro and a Iphone 6s. I wanted to airdrop some pictures from my Mac to my phone. Never have had problems before but airdrop can't find my device. I thought if I updated both devices it may help. This only made matters worse. I tried to send the pictures through the message app on my computer but denied my login even though I carefully put the right Apple ID passcode in. Now I can't get into my iTunes account or anything having to do with my Apple ID because it gives me an error message that my computer doesn't have updated security measures. The verification code will get sent to my phone, but when I type it in to ensure this computer can be trusted it still won't allow me to log into anything. Is there something I can do so I will be able to airdrop files to my phone again and be able to log into my accounts as well? This is turning into a very stressful ordeal.

MacBook Pro 13", OS X 10.11
