Password

I need to download and install a printer driver, but my password on my MacBook Pro is not being recognized, how do I change that password?

Installing a new printer in my macbook pro I was trying to install a new printer & then my mac book is asking for a password. I use the apple ID password but its been refused so I guess its the mac book password used for screen lock options etc. I have forget that & can find how to reset that. Can anyone please help me?
