Dropbox says its open but it's not on my force quit menu

Dropbox is slowing my Mac down tremendously, but I can't find where it's open to make it quit. I'm new to Mac, so go easy on me.

Hello, spymeg.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I understand that you want to know how to quit Dropbox. I'd be glad to help you with this. For Dropbox, check in the upper right corner of your desktop or in the Dock (bottom bar). If you're unable to find the app, try using Finder to locate the app: Get to know the Finder on your Mac

If you're able to find it in the Application section of Finder, you can close out using these steps: Quit apps on Mac

Let me know if this helps.

Cheers!
