After upgrade to catalina 10.15.1, screen brightness is being reset to maximum after reboot, the behaviour is same even after waking up from sleep.

UPDATE: I tried this and it worked for me (so far).
While that is a PITA, it sure beats a 30-min calibration cycle daily.
Definitely some Catalina issue with 2nd monitor.
My machine is a Retina 5K late 2014 maxed out.
Thanks to others on here who have been posting clues. Helped me figure it was a 2nd monitor issue (well, a Catalina issue RE 2nd monitors). Hope Apple fixes this "feature." And no, this never happened before Catalina for me.
I have the same issue as well with my 2017 13" MacBook Pro's. My work laptop as well as my personal one. I already have 'power nap' unselected, but the issue persists. Both are Catalina 10.15.2.
Same here. 1 month old iMac 27/i9 running 10.15.3 - and it only happens randomly.
Pretty jarring when working in a dark office!
Come on Apple!
I'm having this problem too....really annoying having to keep recalibrating it!!!
I have dual monitors as well, with the same maximum brightness problem. It never happened before the Catalina update.
I do have a dual monitor setup, but it happens when I don't have any connected as well. The monitor brand is Acer (at home) and Dell (at work).
Mine is a Samsung. It never happened before Catalina.
