Strange display pattern during startup

It's now a week that my iMac 20 inch Mid 2007, OS X 10.11.6  during startup shows a strange row pattern on the display (see attached photo). After booting, the desktop is not shown and a totally white screen is returned (photo). No way to access iMac. Have you ever seen a thing like that? It could an hardware or software issue?
