csecondi, this is a USB connection, its called USB-C and is way more powerful than the old USB-A (which you call just “USB”). This USB-C connection is on all new MacBooks and can charge from there. You can however use your old cable if you want to.

Hi csecondi!

The Lightning to USB-C cable which comes with the AirPods Pro, can be used to charge it straight from your MacBook, which all use USB-C. Some rumours say that Apple is going to change their entire cablefleet to USB-C. You can still charge it with your normal lightning to USB cable and via wireless charging.

Hope this answers your question!

The end is NOT a USB connection. The end is NOT a connector that I have ever seen before. It doesn't fit into the standard apple plug that you can plug into a wall. WHAT is it supposed to plug into? My question is why would they give you this useless cord with out also providing an adapter of some sort that would connect to a power source?
