what are you supposed to plug the cord that comes with the AirPods pro into? It doesn't have a USB plug end. What is it?

csecondi, this is a USB connection, its called USB-C and is way more powerful than the old USB-A (which you call just “USB”). This USB-C connection is on all new MacBooks and can charge from there. You can however use your old cable if you want to.

Hi csecondi!
The Lightning to USB-C cable which comes with the AirPods Pro, can be used to charge it straight from your MacBook, which all use USB-C. Some rumours say that Apple is going to change their entire cablefleet to USB-C. You can still charge it with your normal lightning to USB cable and via wireless charging.
Hope this answers your question!
Lightening cable - look inside your box or use what you already use to charge the phone.
Buy a charger with a USB-C port.
The lightening cable doesn’t plug into any of the ports on my MacBook. Why give us a plug that needs an adapter? For the price they charge for these AirPod pros they should provide a cable charger that doesn’t require a computer our some other piece of equipment to get the Job (no pun intended) done! I’m very disappointed.
The end is NOT a USB connection. The end is NOT a connector that I have ever seen before. It doesn't fit into the standard apple plug that you can plug into a wall. WHAT is it supposed to plug into? My question is why would they give you this useless cord with out also providing an adapter of some sort that would connect to a power source?
If the USB don't fit and you don't have adapter you can either use a batter charger or your standard 5W wall charger... any common wall plug which accepts usb would work --- if you have wireless, you can go the three times slower route and charge that way.
The standard 5W Apple Charger has a USB-A plug so they would have to get an adapter for their cable. It would make more sense to buy an adapter with a USB-C connection or a Qi certified wireless charger. The faster Qi charger would be faster than the old 5W charger.
