how do I arrange photos in the photos app simply chronologically?

I don't want my images on my iphone 8 rearranged, hidden, or put in folders, or anything else. I don't want to create or populate folders, or do anything clever - I'd just like them arranged chronologically - but there doesn't appear to be a 'leave the photos as they are' setting...

Is there a way to NOT have any settings, but left as they are, in one main folder, and arranged as I take them? That's how its always been, now I find them arranged into folders I don't want, with options I don't want either, in locations I don't want or can't find...

Maybe I could have the simple option of arranging them how I choose? Thx

iPhone 8, iOS 13

Hello davey17x,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand from the information you provided that you want to view your Photos on your iPhone chronologically; I'd like to help.

Here's a resource that can help:

View photos and videos on iPhone

Specifically, take a look at the section labeled "Browse photos", here you will find the option for All Photos, this section contains all your photos and they are listed chronologically, oldest first, so the newest photo will appear at the bottom of the list.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards.

Thanks for your response,

I have been all over this, and the internet quite thoroughly before posting - and if only it were quite as simple as going to 'all photos' where they are arranged chronologically, since pictures I took back in March now appear after those I took in November - thus, since the last IOS update 13.2 and some new folders and rearrangements, resulted in a mixed up chronology here, hence my query...

If the picture information was available on the phone (as it is now made available when you send the picture to someone else (which really doesn't make too much sense) I might be able to narrow the problem down... but as it isn't, I'm a bit stuck...

best regards
