Can the first gen iPad Pro 12.9” do fast charging? I’m using an 18w PD Charger with a usb-c to lightning cable but charge rate is 5.22v 2.3a at 12w on the meter.

Apple is being vague when they say “compatible”. What Apple means by this is that those iPad models are able to use those higher wattage power transformers without damaging iPad. They are using the term “Fast Charge” to refer to higher wattage power transformers. I agree, it is somewhat misleading as some of those older devices cannot utilize the full wattage of those power transformers.
Well you have the wrong information. I have just tested the iPad Pro 1st gen and it charges at 15v, 2amps , 25watts.
i have searched other forums and those 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9 users also state it will fast charge.

While you can use an 18W power transformer with your iPad Pro (1st generation) it can only support up to 12W. Fast Charge at up to 30W was introduced with iPad Pro (2nd generation).
Then why does it show and say above that it supports fast chsrging?
