I like 16:9 format of pictures so I'm using this format as default on my Iphone 11 camera. I made hundreds of 16:9 photos and although all of them are in 16:9 format while watching them on phone only ultra wide pictures are in this format when I copy them to computer. Pictures made by main (wide) camera are in 4:3 format although 16:9 was original setting. Is it normal? Thx for feedback

The sensor is 4:3. So to take a 16:9 picture it only uses part of the sensor, resulting in a lower resolution image. The 4:3 image is the highest possible resolution. You can crop it to 16:9, and get the same result that you get shooting at 16:9.

So I found out that when I'm shooting in 16:9 format Iphone saves copy of same picture also in 4:3 format. Is there any way how to stop Iphone to save two copies of same picture and save picture only in 16:9 format?
