How to display the camera app in Landscape mode - at last, a simple way.

I wanted to display the camera app in landscape mode, and finally, FINALLY, I found a way.

Download the Filmic Pro app, or better still, the ProMovie app.

Both apps lets you display your camera feed in LANDSCAPE, not just portrait, which is all the built-in camera app can do.

You can press the "square" button with two arrows pointing diagonally to the middle, which is in the top left hand corner, to get rid of all the otherwise useful camera buttons, which let you see battery, remaining space, shutter, ISO etc.

Press this button twice and you have an almost full screen landscape live view from the camera. You can also press the Settings gear icon under the "square" button mentioned above to turn off the top bar of icons in this full screen mode.

What you'll have left is the red record button in the bottom right hand corner, and in the left hand corner you'll have the square button. But the majority of the screen is filled with a live landscape view from your camera.

So, there you have it. You can download ProMovie free, if you record with it there's a watermark, but a cheap in-app purchase of less than (from memory) $5 in Aussie dollars (so less in US dollars) removes the watermark.

If you're just using the camera app to display a live stream from the ProMovie camera app, I don't think any watermark appears, although I paid for the app as soon as I downloaded it a few years ago, so can't check.

Anyway I hope this helps anyone that needs to display the camera image in LANDSCAPE!!!!!!!!! Why Apple doesn't allow this in its native camera app eludes me, but there you go.
