cannot see external hard drive in MacOs after boot camp install
I successfully went thru the boot camp installation to install Windows 10 on its own partition on my MacBook Pro and have a working Windows 10 installation on my laptop. But now when I'm using MacOs I cannot see the Glyph 1 TB external hard drive that Time Machine was using for backups before the boot camp partitioning. I can see other external hard drives on the desktop that I plug into the USB-C port, but they have Fat32 file systems.
In the disk utility application, the external hard drive does not appear. The output of diskutil list from the cmd line is as follows:
TJA-MacPro:~ TJAhome$ diskutil list
/dev/disk0 (internal):
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme 500.3 GB disk0
1: EFI EFI 314.6 MB disk0s1
2: Apple_APFS Container disk1 371.0 GB disk0s2
3: Microsoft Basic Data BOOTCAMP 129.0 GB disk0s3
/dev/disk1 (synthesized):
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: APFS Container Scheme - +371.0 GB disk1
Physical Store disk0s2
1: APFS Volume Macintosh HD 334.8 GB disk1s1
2: APFS Volume Preboot 45.0 MB disk1s2
3: APFS Volume Recovery 510.4 MB disk1s3
4: APFS Volume VM 2.1 GB disk1s4
So the external hard disk is present at the physical layer, but MacOs cannot see it thru the Virtual Machine (Container 1) layer. Any ideas?
