time machine drive not mounting

My time machine files are located on an external drive with several partitions.

Since installing Catalina, when I connect my external drive, my macbook pro sees all the other partitions but the one for Time Machine. It is marked as not mounted on Disk Utility

Hard Drive Not Showing Up In Time Machine Hey guys, having a bit of trouble with Time Machine. I have a 2TB external Seagate HDD in which there are two partitions (1 ExFAT and 1 Mac OS Extended Journaled as per Disk Utility). The drive connects fine and I see it mounted in my Finder sidebar and on my desktop, and I'm able to drag and drop files into it or out of it. However, I'm looking to use the Mac OS Extended partition for Time Machine backups as well but although I can see the drive showing in the above mentioned locations however when I try to select a disk for time machine to be set up, the drive/partition is not showing up at all. I checked the advanced settings and it is not an excluded drive. I've also ensured that there is more than enough space on the partition for the backup. What is wrong here, and how can I fix this? I am on Mac OS Monterey 12.1, running on my old Early 2015 13" MBP. Thanks in advance!

MAC not connecting to external drive? An external hard drive that I had been using to hold backups for my MacBook Pro does not show up in the Finder sidebar when I connect it to my new MacBook Air. It also does not appear in the list of available disks to select in Time Machine. I've ensured that Hard Drives is selected under Finder Preferences. The device does appear in the USB list under System Information. How can I get Time Machine to recognize this drive?

Time Machine and external disks My Mac Mini is running Mojave 10.14.4. Time Machine suddenly says that neither of my back up disks, one of which is always connected, and the other which I connect and separately back up once a month, are available, and they cannot be found. I no longer see the external disk icon on my desktop (upper right hand corner) either. Why won't my Mac recognize the external hard drives? WD Passport and "Porsche Design." Been using them successfully for a couple of years. How can I fix this? Thanks.

I have ran a Firts Aid check and repair for my whole external drive, it took a few iterations but at the end my partition in mounted.!!!

After a great deal of investigation and a whole nother thread, I found a solution to my own TM volume mounting issue was that my NAS was not issuing the Bonjour elements that Catalina expects. There are rumours that SMB 1 is implemented in a changed manner between Mojave and Catalina. I use SMB for my NAS
