I have an LG DVD writer with my iMac. It wont recognize DVD movies to play. Help?

How do I use an LG DVD writer to show movies DVDs on my iMac?



iMac 21.5" 4K, macOS 10.14

Do the DVD's show up on your desktop? If so then open with DVD Player in Applications or get VLC, a free app from VideoLan.

Official Download of VLC media player for Mac OS X - VideoLAN

If the DVD does not show on your desktop then check to see if Writer is on or the connection to the computer. If USB then try a different port.
