Apple ask me about a Chinese phone number , but I was in Nigeria only have a Nigeria phone number

This number is registered to you Apple ID, but is not associated with the phone. Hi I recently traveled to Bangladesh from the USA to visit family. I had to change my sim and get a new number because I’m obviously in a different country. But I received a notification saying that my USA number is still being used for the account but it’s gonna expire for the phone in the next 6 days. Is there any way to extend this? I only have 14 days till I return to the USA? If not, what does this entail? Will it go back to normal if I put my SIM card back in?

Apple support scam I figured out this was a scam, unfortunately it was too late. I was called by a “supposed apple tech support “ person and it scared me, I am new to apple merchandise. He was Asian Indian and asked if I’d been shopping online at Walmart or target. That there was suspected activity on my account. I was scared and gave him access through an app to access my phone. So afterwards he hung up and didn’t call me back. So I called the latest phone number back, it was a scam. The number was unused phone number. Even if I changed my passwords and deleted my cards and erased my Apple Pay, is that enough? Is my info now compromised? The biggest scare was he said Russians and Chinese were trying to use my Apple ID to purchase gift cards online.

It seems improbable that Apple would ask you about any phone number because Apple cares about devices, not phone numbers. If Apple has asked you about them (unlikely) then please contact the source that has asked you, BUT beware of scammers
