Mac becomes unresponsive and struggles to shut down on Catalina

I had one of those machines (iMac late 2013) that took forever to install, but it did install. I had some initial instability issues that I had to address, but once they were solved things seemed to go well. Until recently when every couple of days after being awake and running, it starts to get non-responsive. Attempting a restart basically puts every application into force quit mode (something is blocking them from quitting). Takes a while (like upwards of 3-4 mins) but it will eventually reboot and come up fine.

Couple of interesting groups of logs happening repeatedly in the attached.

Hello, Branden Williams.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

From what I've read it seems like you're having some issues with apps becoming non responsive. I'd like to help. See if this occurs in safe mode and a test user account:

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

You may also want to consider resetting your NVRAM: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

This should be a good start to help narrow down the issue.

Keep me updated.

Cheers!
