what happened to itunes playlist

Recently connected my iPhone XR to my Macbook Pro to create a new iTunes playlist. Created one and started on another when I had to quit. When I went to play one of my favorite playlists in the car the next day it was gone! Didn't delete or remove it. Just disappeared. All the songs are there, just no playlist. Any ideas how to recover it?
