Appstore keeps asking for password

Here's a link to the issue...

It's currently impossible for me to download/install anything from the mac app store since there seems to be a password loop that brings me back to square one each time.

as you may see in the video, when i click install the system asks for the user password and when i enter the password correctly, rather than starting the download it reverts back and asks again, hence "the loop".

any help will be much appreciated.

Hello Jean_001,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! I see that you're unable to download apps on your Mac mini after signing in to the App Store with your Apple ID. Thanks for including a recording of that behavior, and you've come to the right place for a resolution.

To help isolate some common causes of this behavior, I would like to have you follow the suggestions in the support article below:

If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or Apple Books - Apple Support

If you're still unable to download apps after following those steps, I suggest reaching out to Apple Support using the contact link under the "Get more help" section.

Take care.

Hello Brenden dv,

After posting the issue and following a number of fixing attempts, I discovered that these issues started to emerge after installing Catalina over Mojave. So, With a "Hail Mary pass" -if I may say so- I clean installed Catalina and everything went back to as they were supposed to be...

It seems that I had been dealing with some form of software conflict(s) that I had no way of working around as a regular (!) user.

Nevertheless, thank you for your attempt to assist me.

Best,
