Cannot Send iCloud Email

When I try to send an email from my iCloud account, I get a message: “The connection to the outgoing server “p17-smtp.mail.me.com” failed.

I have not changed my settings, and it won’t allow me to fiddle with the outgoing server settings. How do I fix this?

iPhone SE, iOS 13

Here are some suggestions that might work for you:

Try the steps from here: Get help using iCloud Mail
If possible, try using another Wi-Fi network or use cellular data to see if the same thing happens.
