New emoji

Why has Apple not released a “shrug/who knows” face emoji? It’s a very useful expressive, usually shown as a simple smile face, eyebrows raised, and a hand, palm up on either side. It already exists - I’ve used several variants - but not on the Unicode site.

Yes, I understand that Unicode, not Apple creates new emojis. Yes, I’ve used the link. Yes, I’ve gone through the form for creating new emojis. But if you’ve actually looked at it, requesting a new emoji requires more hours of work and more familiarity with software than most ordinary users can manage. I don’t make my own shirts, either, although I can use a sewing machine.

But we all know that Apple’s not a passive player here. If it wants a new emoji, that emoji will exist in the next OS. Any interest out there in pushing for a useful emoji?
