iPhone keeps asking me the same questions after system update

I just got my first iPhone (11 Pro). I set up the phone and it asked me a bunch of questions:

  • Do I want to use iCloud Drive? No.
  • Do I want to send diagnostic info? No.
  • Do I want to set up Animojis? No.
  • Do I want to train Siri? No.

I just received a system update and it asked me again about Siri and Animojis, but not the others. Is it going to ask me on every system update?

Also is there any way to stop the very annoying Windows Vista-like "allow/deny" dialogs that keep asking me to use location never, when the app is running or always? I really don't care.

Yes, it's going to ask you every time. Because it has no memory of what you answered last time. It respects your privacy and doesn't accumulate data about you needlessly.

The same is true for the dialogs. And you should care whether an app is using your data or not, and how it is using it. The location question is particularly important, because if you choose "always" say, for a Google app, then Google will have a complete history of everywhere you have ever been, and will provide it to police when asked, and it will also allow people to stalk you. Your choice.

Thanks for the responses!

If I don't want to use iCloud Drive or animated emojis, I would expect the device to remember that locally and not ask me again. I'm not following the privacy issue here.

I personally don't care and don't feel like I should (though I understand why other, even most others, would care). Though my question was really just trying to figure out if there's a way to set a useful default, like "allow only when using the app", or even "no" if I wished.
