Problem solved! Went to Genius Bar and they replaced the buds and I am now getting the bass tones I expected. There must have been some type of defect. The genius bar tech was a puzzled as I was. When I do the sound test, it still indicates they are not a perfect fit with any size tip, but don’t care as the sound is now excellent with the replacements.
You can use an equalizer on the device you are connected with. But if they are sealed properly they should have good bass. Might be time to check your hearing.
Go to settings, music, Scroll down to the section where it says playback, press “EQ” and tap bass booster and there you go.
Sorry but this is a stupid, misinformed statement no offense. The AirPods pro drivers are small due to all the other hardware Apple fits in them. For what they are, they sound good but because of the small drivers, they’re unable to deliver deep bass. Maybe you’re more a treble lover but people who say they can’t hear the bass most definitely do not need to get their hearing checked! I’d suggest tweaking the equalizer for maybe a small increase in bass with certain songs.
If you are not hearing deep bass you either don't have them fit correctly or you need to get a hearing test. Good recorded music does not need an equalizer, you listen to it as the engineer recorded it.
Then either you don't have a good seal or you have a defective set and need to exchange them.
You don't have one of those cars with 4 36" woofers in the back and 14 amplifiers?
I am chill. Unlike Johnathan, (and both of us are longtime headphone addicts) I don't think the Airpods artificially inflate bass and sound terrible, I think the bass on both the models are comparable assuming you have the proper seal on your AirPod Pros. But they are definitely not a pumped up extra bass headphone like others that are out there, like the 1st generation Beats solos and others I can name. If they are not enough for you return them and buy some that state they add extra mid-bass (this is what you are not hearing). The AirPod Pros are designed to give accurate bass reproduction.
Exactly true, AirPods Pro have practically no bass response... I have AirPods 1 and AirPods Pro in front of me. I listen to Tom Petty through Pro and it sounds thin and tinny. Pause music, switch yo AirPods 1 and voila, beautiful bass and full frequency. You need to simply have a normal fit. Of course if you squish them in the bass improves but they fall back to a loose position so the real desk is how weak the actual eq bass response is on the newer model vs old 1’s and 2’s...
I would guess (1) they don't fit your ears (did they pass the seal test) and (2) you got yours too late for the update they pulled that increased the bass but lowered the noise reduction and (3) your bass hearing is not that good as a result of years of listening to it turned up all the way.
Settings > Music > Playback: EQ > Bass Boost (or whatever setting you want) - nvm, saw your response after I posted.
Try to change the EQ to electronic, it will increase de bass noticeably, Believe me it is the only way that works
Exactly there is no deep bass. I think this is a drawback of airpod pro. The bass is superficial and the sound quality of music is average. If they do something in itunes may better. The equalizer is not customizable.(preset setting is not effective).customizable itunes equalizer like desktop may helpful to get deep rich sound.
If the AirPod Pros pass the fit test (you have done that) and sound tinny and crummy then there is something wrong with them or your hearing. Start with them, make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store and have them replaced. You might also want to let a friend try them first.
Genius Bar it is. Keep getting an Adjust or Try a Different ear tip on all size ear tip tests. Maybe they are defective.
In my opinion if the iTunes music in iphone provide a custom equalizer setting ,a significant change in bass may come.
