Airpod Pro, can hear "white noise" on "noise concellation" mode

I have this hissing issue but an Apple Store rep has told me it’s normal and I should seek a refund from my supplier if I don’t like it. Do you have any advice as I don’t want to be stuck with faulty AirPods but Apple won’t repair them.
