AirPort Express 1st gen keeps disconnecting
I’ve seen other old threads with this same issue, but are already closed so I couldn’t reply on them.
I haven’t used my two airport expresses (gen 1 & 2) for several years now, I got tired of wrestling with the configuration to get a good WiFi coverage in my house, so I switched my AirPort Extreme to a Netgear Nighthawk, no need for extenders now.
But recently I found out that the new firmware of the Airport Express let’s it connect to any network and function as an Airplay device. So I updated both, set them up and voilà, multi-room music streaming.
However, the 1st gen keeps disconnecting from the network after an hour of so or working flawlessly, it keeps the green light on but neither does Airport Utility nor my router can see it as connected. WiFi signal is excellent where it is connected, and gen 2 hasn’t had that issue.
I used to use this same Airport Express Gen 1 for AirPlay before and it always worked, I wonder what is happening now.
