Can't set up Time Machine.

I need to make backups of all the bits on my 2012 MacBookpro as the Hard drive is on its way out.

I have managed to get iCloud doing its thing but Time Machine seems the way to go. When I open the app it asks me to select a backup disc. When I click on this I get..

I continue set up and the next window opens. I click on "open devices" but it tells me that there aren't any to be found... so what do I now need to do ?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Brian.

Yeah, basically Time Machine is the utility that can create a backup of your system to the external source (like external hard drive or Airport Time Capsule) and then to keep this backup up to date. You can look for external HD at your nearest computer store.

Open the Apple menu, then select About This Mac and click the Storage tab in the toolbar to see how much disk space do you need to backup.
