IPhone11ProMax/11 Pro - conversation problem

Hello, I have a problem that I encountered on several iPhone 11 pro max and 11 pro which I purchased for my family. When I talk on the phone the receiver hears my voice in a robotic, distorted manner, as if there were connectivity issues. This happens quiet often, and in order to make my voice sound clear so that the other person can understand what I’m saying, I have to hang up the call, put the phone on airplane mode or turn off the phone, and then call again, and this fixes the problem. This happens frequently, even daily, I might add. I have to mention that I bought the phones from the USA.

2 of them are on the Vodafone network and 1 is on Orange, but the issue is the same on both networks.

I also mention that I’m using the latest software, version 13.2.2.

I have other acquaintances with iPhone 11 pro max bought form the USA and they don’t have any issues of this kind.

Do you have any solutions that could help me fix the problem? Do you think this is a software problem, a hardware problem or some kind of connectivity issue?

Hello cosminmorar7 and welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I see you're having issues with the way your voice sounds on calls using multiple devices.

The fact that this is happening on multiple devices pretty much rules out hardware. The fact that toggling Airplane Mode resolves the issue does point to a probably connectivity issue with the cellular network. Do Vodafone and Orange share a network akin to what Sprint and T-Mobile do in the U.S.?

As far as software troubleshooting, you may want to approach this from the receiving end of one of the other devices.

The same problem is for iPhone 11, Pro and Pro Max.

There are 2 providers in my country with different networks, and the phones are having troubles on both.

A temporary solution is switching the connection the phone is getting down to 2G, the robotic voice is only happening when the phone is talking on the 3G network
