MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) keyboard not lighting up after 10.15.1 update

My keyboard light goes on and off after update. Any fixes for this? Anyone else with this problem?

I found the problem, in settings>Keyboard there is an option to adjust keyboard lighting according to the room's illumination. I guess this is to save the battery. keyboard lighting works in the dark.
